Kevin Wendt Bio Print E-mail

Kevin WendtKevin Wendt, his wife Megan, daughter Riley, and son Ethan live in Dublin, Ohio. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Kevin was a member of the 1987 Meat Evaluation Team and the 1988 Livestock Judging Team. After graduation Kevin served as a field representative for the National Hampshire Swine Registry, was manager of the Ohio State Swine Test Station and continued his career as a livestock, farm equipment, and real estate auctioneer. Wendt has judged at over 200 county fair shows in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Texas and Kentucky, has served as an Official at the North American Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Contest in Louisville, Kentucky, judged numerous swine and cattle shows in the mid-west and has served as the breeding stock and market barrow judge at The Grand National Stock Show held at The California Cow Palace in San Francisco, and The Southwestern Stock Show at Fort Worth, Texas. Wendt has also judged the LSU Stock Show sponsored by Louisiana State University and the Hampshire Breeding Stock at the Southwest Type Conference in Belton, Texas, the Yorkshire Breeding Stock at the World Pork Expo, the Berkshire Breeding Stock at the Summer Type Conference, the National Hereford Show and Sale and several national showmanship contests for the National Junior Swine Association and Team Purebred.

Kevin has been involved with the Ohio State Fair for 23 years as an exhibitor, auctioneer, and member of O’Neil Swine Barn staff. Wendt currently serves as Superintendent of the Ohio State Fair Swine barn. He and his family own and operate Etcow.com, showpig.com, and showstock.com.

During Kevin’s 22-year career as an auctioneer, he has had the opportunity to auction cattle, sheep, miniature donkeys and hogs for some of the nations top producers. He currently serves as the national auctioneer of the National Swine Registry Hampshire sales, National Auctioneer for The American Berkshire Association and annually sells at the Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois State Fairs. Kevin sells numerous major cattle auctions for breeders in the United States including Shorthorn, Angus, Hereford, Maine-Angus, Chi-Angus, and Club Calves. Kevin is a ringman at the Ohio State Fair Sale of Champions and annually sells Junior Fair sales in Ohio. He currently serves as an instructor at Reppert’s Schools of Auctioneering in Auburn, Indiana.

Kevin was honored by the Ohio State University Alumni Association and received the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Award for distinctive early career achievement. He is a past President of the Ohio Auctioneer Association and 2006 Ohio State Bid Calling Champion. Former ten-year member of 4-H and Past State FFA Officer Please welcome Kevin Wendt.
