Looking to market or purchase elite Hereford genetics? The American Hereford Association (AHA) has launched a new online auction Web site — BuyHereford.com — which will feature regular online consignment auctions.
This new marketing site will give Hereford breeders the power to reach potential customers worldwide. Designed to help producers with any herd size, this service provides a marketing option for those producers who do not host annual production sales and can be a complementary outlet for those who do host a production sale.
AHA members can consign females, bulls, steers, cow-calf pairs, donor dams, embryos, semen, picks of the herd or flush rights. Commercial female lots and groups of feeder calves can also be listed. Offerings are not just limited to Hereford genetics; consignments can also include equipment such as chutes, trailers, show tack and equipment or feed supplies.
The first BuyHereford.com online auction will be Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. Other 2009 scheduled sale dates are Dec. 1 and Dec. 29. |

Schrader Auction Company wins three awards in Ohio marketing competition |

Schrader Auction Company emerged as a big winner in the Ohio Auctioneers Association's Advertising Contest for 2008, with marketing campaigns winning three categories, including Farm/Agricultural Real Estate.
The "Farm/Agricultural Real Estate" winning campaign led to a successful auction for Gary Farms in New Madison, Ohio, in Darke County. The 268-acre property sold in 11 tracts, including tillable land, hunting land and development land. The auction attracted a crowd of more than 200 people, including 27 registered bidders. It resulted in a total sale price of $1,375,000. Bidders came not only from Ohio, but also from Indiana, Florida and Massachusetts.

Schrader Auction Company Supports Youth at State and County Fairs |

Kevin Wendt and Nick Cummings auctioneers for Schrader Real Estate and Auction company once again supported youth at the Ohio State Fair and county fairs in 2009. Congratulations to Taylor Creager of Waseon Ohio pictured above on her 9 year 4-H career. Taylor will be attending Bluffton College this fall. We wish you the best of luck. We remember your first year in 4-H when you had the Grand Champion at the Ohio State fair -- how time passes fast. Also congratulations to Kalie Bodey of Castalia, Ohio on her Reserve Champion Duroc barrow. We were part of the buyers group that supported her pig at The Buckeye Barrow Boosters Sale of Champions. Schraders also supported youth at Junior Fair livestock sales in Fayette, Clinton, Darke, Hancock and Madison Counties.
